Paisley Addiction Centre Looks For Support

An addiction treatment centre for young people is hoping for support from the Bluewater Board of Education.
David Nathan appeared at a school board meeting representing The Georgian Bay Treatment Centre.
It’s on a site just outside Paisley.
Nathan says they hope to open in January starting with about 20 young people and eventually treat up to 50 at any one time.
There has been some opposition to the plan from area residents.
Nathan says their concerns are being addressed.
“We are putting together our policies and procedures for the whole building, and included in that are the very important policies of safety and security. And that’s for the students, the staff, and the community,” he says.
The Bluewater board referred Nathan’s request for a letter of endorsement to staff for further study.
