A labour organization at Bruce Power believes everyone deserves a living wage.

The Society of Energy Professionals presented a cheque for $2,000 to Peace and Justice Grey Bruce.

Peace and Justice Grey Bruce is a loose coalition of individuals and organizations working to raise awareness of precarious work, defined as work that doesn’t pay enough to get people to the end of the month.

The Society of Energy Professionals’ Dick Hibma says lower income people need the same protections and voice as those in the union movement.

Peace and Justice Grey Bruce spokesperson David McLaren says the donation will be used so they can continue their efforts to lobby governments and business leaders to eliminate the wage gap and allow poorly paid people make enough money to make ends meet.
