Blyth residents invited 14-hundred and 19 of their closest friends for dinner last night.

The meal was served in the Main Street in Blyth and Project Director Peter Smith says the event was sold out by the first of August.

Smith explains the event is billed as Fare on 4 and is being hosted by 14/19 Inc. – so named to mark 2014 as the 49th anniversary of the Blyth Centre for the Arts and 2019 is the 100th anniversary of the Blyth Memorial Hall.

Smith says Fare on 4 is a fundraiser with three objectives over five years; first to renovate Memorial Hall, the second is to create a national centre for rural creativity in the former Blyth Public School and the third is to address the issues of rural youth employment and rural youth retention.
