Upgrades For Wingham and District Hospital
Major changes are coming to the Wingham and District Hospital.
Listowel-Wingham Hospital Alliance CEO Karl Ellis says starting this fall, they are building ramps to improve patient accessibility at the front entrance way. They are also improving the side walks on Carling Terrace.
Ellis says the Municipality of North Huron is undertaking storm and sewer work on Carling Terrace in the next couple of weeks. Accessibility construction will start after that.
In Spring 2015, the Wingham hospital will undergo major renovations. Ellis says part of the renos include developing a new oncology suite, ambulatory care and day surgery space.
The multi-million dollar project is expected to take around two years.
