The former Clinton Communicators Club is now the Huron County Toastmaster’s Club.

President Wilma Armstrong explains they’ve been in the Clinton area for over 20 years and have now moved to Goderich in hopes of attracting more people. Armstrong says their goal is to help improve people’s self confidence by helping them express themselves either in front of a large crowd or in one-to-one conversations.

Armstrong adds she knows people who have been asked to speak at weddings, but didn’t out of fear of public speaking. She also believes young people pursuing post-secondary education can actually improve their grades if they can effectively present in front of their class.

The Toastmaster’s Club meets every Tuesday night at the Trinity Christian Reformed Church on Mill Road in Goderich and they welcome visitors to their meetings.
