Huron County Official Plan Appeal Avoids OMB Hearing
Central Huron, Huron County and the Ministry of Municipal Affairs have reached an agreement on an appeal to the county’s official plan.
Huron County Senior Planner Sandra Weber explains Central Huron had appealed the official plan back in June of 2012 based on the language around the Renewable Energy Facilities and Commercial Scale Water-taking.
At a preliminary hearing, the Ontario Municipal Board ruled that the rest of the official plan, excluding those two policies, would come into force.
The three parties have now agreed on some revised wording for those two policies so the entire official plan can be approved and a full Ontario Municipal Board hearing is avoided.
