Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission Open House In Point Clark
The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission held an open house yesterday at the Point Clark Community Centre.
They were there educating Huron-Kinloss residents on its role in the Nuclear Waste Management Organizations investigation into building a below-ground nuclear dump in the township.
The proposed site is just one of many across Canada in running for the dump.
Kathleen Bauer of Point Clark says she wanted to be informed about the the commission.
Don Howard, director of the Wastes and Decommissioning Division for the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission, says the main purpose of the open house was to inform that there is a federal level that studies the plans for a nuclear waste dump before it can go ahead.
