Road Closure Plans Worry Grey County ResidentsAugust 8, 2014 6:28am
Some people in eastern Grey County are upset at the possible closure of part of a Simcoe County highway.
Clearview Township is considering closing part of Simcoe Rd. 91.
Grey Highland’s Lorrie Gillis says Simcoe Rd. 91 is a major east-west route for people going to and from Stayner and the Barrie area. EMS also use the road as the quickest response route, and there are over 300 households in Grey Highlands that count on the emergency services out of Clearview.
She says the alternative route being suggested is unpaved and not as safe.
Gillis and others have organized a public information meeting on the issue. It’s Saturday morning at 10am at Osprey Community Centre in Feversham.
Clearview Township officials have not returned phone calls.
