July’s jobless rate in the region covering Midwestern Ontario was significantly lower than the rest of the province.
According to Stats Canada the jobless rate in the area covering Stratford to Bruce Peninsula was 4.3 percent.
The next closest was 6 percent in the Kitchener-Waterloo region.
Nationally, there is trouble in the jobs market as just 200 jobs were added during the month of July, widely missing expectations.
Canada’s unemployment rate dropped one-tenth of a point to 7 per cent for the month, as fewer people went looking for work.
Between June and July, the number of full-time jobs fell by 59,700 while part-time jobs increased by 60,000.
