Over $1 M Needed For Kincardine Art Centre Renovations

Frustration around the slow progress of inside work on the Kincardine Centre for the Arts was apparent at Kincardine Council last night.

A report outlining work that would have to be done and the cost, over $1.5 million, seemed to set everyone on edge.

Councillor Jacqueline Faubert, who has been doing everything she can to get the work started, says the process has been going on for four years.

“I’m still frustrated,” says Faubert.  “It’s just a matter of paperwork and approvals and recommendations of ideas circulating, brought to the committee, brought back.”

Kincardine council asked staff to come back with a phased-in approach for the improvements.

That report will be available at next week’s council meeting.
