New Chair Of Economic Alliance From GoderichAugust 7, 2014 5:54am
The deputy mayor of Goderich got a lot of attention at Wednesday’s session of Huron County council.
John Grace announced that he has been named the new Chair of the South West Economic Alliance. Grace has represented Huron County on the SWEA executive for the past few years, and says it’s a huge honour and responsibility.
“It really brings a clear message to rural Ontario that we are in the game, that we are part of the big process, that we have a voice at the big table,” says Grace. “Economic development is front and forward to all of us.”
He points out that at a time when it’s not clear who is representing rural Ontario at the provincial level, it’s important to have as many rural voices at the table as possible when the discussion involves economic development.
Grace also announced that he is running for re-election as deputy mayor in Goderich.
Councillor Judy Crawford had previously announced she was running for deputy mayor.
