ATV Collision West Of Blyth Turns Fatal

Police are investigating after a fatal crash west of Blyth involving an ATV and a pickup truck that was towing a utility trailer.

Huron County Ontario Provincial Police say officers were dispatched to the collision on Friday around 3:45pm, at the intersection of Walton Rd. and Clyde Line. The Honda ATV was travelling southbound on Clyde Line when it collided with the pickup truck’s rear bumper and the utility trailer. The impact caused the rider to be thrown from his ATV and land in a ditch on the southwest corner of the intersection.

The ATV rider, 22-year-old Kenneth Plunkett of North Huron, was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The 39-year-old male driver of the pickup truck, a Morris-Turnberry resident, and his three child passengers did not sustain injuries as a result of the collision.

Traffic around the Walton Rd. and Clyde Line intersection will continue to be diverted until around 9pm while police are at the scene.
