Police are investigating after a minivan and a transport truck collided at the intersection of Perth County Rd. 121 and Perth Line 67, near Milverton.

Perth County Ontario Provincial Police say on Thursday around 4:24pm, the Chrysler Town and Country minivan was travelling southbound on Perth Rd. 121 when a Peterbilt truck pulling a full sized trailer loaded with gravel, collided with the driver’s side of the minivan. The impact caused both vehicles to end up in a soybean field near the intersection.

All seven occupants of the minivan sustained injuries in the crash. Police say a male child and an adult male were airlifted to a London hospital. The remaining two children and three adults were transported to local hospital by ambulance. One of the adults, the 34-year-old male driver of the van, has since been transported to a London hospital for further treatment.

The driver of the transport truck, a 23-year-old male resident of North Perth, was not injured in the crash.

Perth Rd. 121 between Perth Line 61 and Perth Line 72  is expected to remain closed until around 10pm while investigators are at the scene.
