Saugeen Shores Big Bands Funding
The federal government is helping out a Saugeen Shores festival celebrate its 20th anniversary.
Huron-Bruce MP Ben Lobb announced a $5,900 grant for the Canadian Big Band Celebration, which will be held from September 12 to 14.
Lobb says it’s a unique festival that allows people to hear the sounds of days gone by, when big band and jazz music could be heard all summer at dance pavilions in many local communities.
He adds music festivals have also become a big tourist draw in the area, pointing out Goderich and Kincardine have established festivals that also attract thousands.
