The Relay For Life committee in Kincardine has adopted a ‘Superheroes’ theme for next month’s event.

Committee chair Brenda O’Neill says superheroes have extraordinary powers, and whether you are newly diagnosed, are a cancer survivor, or are a caregiver, family member or friend, they are all Superheroes.

This year’s honourary chair knows this first-hand. Doug Kennedy is in remission after his battle with cancer last year. He will join hundreds of people at the Davidson Centre outdoor track on Friday August 15th for the 12-hour Relay For Life.

Last year, 21 teams in Kincardine helped raise more than $50,000, joining more than 190 events across Ontario that raised over $16 million. This year’s fundraising goal in Kincardine is $68,000.

You can register as a Team Captain for Kincardine’s event at www.relayforlife.ca/kincardine and check out the Relay For Life – Kincardine Facebook page for up-to-date information.
