Goderich Harbour Expansion Plans

An Environmental Planner with B M Ross explained one of the more unique aspects of the Goderich Harbour expansion to Central Huron council last night.
Kelly Vader pointed out that in researching some of the historical surveys that had been done, they discovered that part of the land was actually in the former Township of Goderich, which is now Central Huron and part was in Colborne Township, which is now Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh.
Vader says all the property is now owned by Goderich, but the other municipalities have jurisdiction over their section, which is just a sliver for A-C-W; about three and a half hectares is in Goderich; and the rest is in Central Huron.
Vader adds that means that once the expansion has been completed, each municipality will benefit from the tax base on their portion of the land.
