Wellington North Firefighter Retires

Wellington North Firefighter Willard Ghent has been honoured for his 40 years of service to the Mount Forest Volunteer Fire Brigade.
Wellington North Mayor Ray Tout thanked Ghent for his endless hours of volunteer time given to keep the community safe.
Ghent retired from firefighting in 2013.
Wellington North’s Acting Fire Chief David Guilbault says volunteers are a special breed.
He says, “You look at a career firefighter risking his or her life for 40 years and you know, that’s amazing in itself. but when you have a member of the community who volunteers for 40 years, that is really special.”
