Brockton Managing Finances Well

No major concerns with the Municipality of Brockton’s finances. Council has received it’s annual audit report.

As of December 31st, 2013, Brockton has over 52-million dollars in accumlated surplus and roughly 2.8 million in net financial assets.

The municipality’s deficit sits at just under half a million dollars, but Mayor David Inglis says it’s because of major infrastructure projects.

He says, “We’ve done quite a bit of infrastructure work over the past year and so that is relfected in that number. We’re well within our debt limit and payback limits, and I think we’re in good shape.”

Inglis says overall the report shows they’re able to manage their debt and finances quite well in Brockton
