Tall Ships Popular in Bayfield

Two of the Tall Ships drew large crowds in Bayfield all weekend.
The Pathfinder and the Playfair docked in Bayfield on Friday. It was their first stop of the summer tour of the Great Lakes.
Playfair Captain Patrick Shorey says his ship has a permanent crew of eleven. They also added fifteen student crew members between the ages of thirteen and eighteen in Bayfield.
Captain Shorey is quick to point out the students are not guests on the ships, they are working crew members.
They haul the anchor by hand, trim and move the sails, and help to steer the ship.
Captain Shorey adds they also get to do the less glamorous jobs like cleaning up the galley and the head.
