It looks like a third party consultant will help determine future library service levels in North Perth.

Council has given the nod to the development of a library feasibility study but will review the terms of reference before the request for proposals is issued.

North Perth Public Library CEO Rebecca Dechert Sage points out community needs are changing due to technology and other current trends.

Dechert Sage stresses the North Perth Public Library and the municipality have a great working relationship so she is confident there are ways to offer the best possible service to “all of the community.”

Over the past few years, space and other limitations at the Monkton and Atwood branches in particular have been a challenge.

North Perth Council has approved a budget amendment that allows the proposed library feasibility study to move forward at an estimated cost of $22,000 dollars.
