Canadian Blood Services is urgently seeking donors to ensure the supply is there when people need it.

The Canada Day holiday means fewer donors are making appointments, and more appointments are being cancelled.

At the same time, the need for blood is on the rise. The Canada Safety council says more fatalities occur on Canadian roads during the summer months, than at any other time of year.

It can take up to 50 donors to help save the life of a motor vehicle collision victim.

A blood donor clinic is planned at the Mount Forest and District Sports Complex tomorrow from 3pm to 8pm.

In Owen Sound, there will be a blood donor clinic at the Royal Canadian Legion between 2 and 7pm July 2nd.

Donors in the Wingham area can donate at the Knights of Columbus Centre July 2nd from 1pm to 730pm.

A clinic is also planned at the Meaford and St. Vincent Community Centre July 3 from 3 to 7pm.
