Huron County Asked To Consider Post Secondary Possibilities
The Mayor of Huron East has asked Huron County council to look at post-secondary education possibilities for the Reach Centre in Clinton.
Bernie MacLellan points to negotiations currently underway between Goderich and Fanshawe College and the success Seaforth has had with Healthkick as two examples of the need for post-secondary education in the county.
MacLellan also points out the immediate benefits would be keeping young people in Huron County because post-secondary training would be available to them.
He says it would also attract people from outside of the county and that would pump more money into Huron County’s economy.
MacLellan also suggests that while the Reach Centre would be an ideal location it should be a county-wide initiative and he’s asking council to look into it on that basis.
