Final Numbers For Saugeen Shores Relay for Life

The final tally is in from the Saugeen Shores relay for Life to Crush Cancer.

The sixth annual relay Friday night raised $55,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society. Tat brings the six year total to $680,000.
About 230 participants on 28 teams braved the chilly weather to walk the track 12 hours at Nodwell Park in Port Elgin.
32 survivors were part of the even, along with 160 volunteers.

Co-chair Rona Cobean says, “I don’t even know how to tell you how much [we] appreciate the wonderful committee that pulls this off every year, the awesome participants who show us great
enthusiasm even at 3 a.m., the tremendous survivors who faced the frigid temperatures, the great volunteers who always get the jobs done for us and the list goes on.”
