Hanover Labyrinth of Distinction Inductees

The Town of Hanover will induct The Mercey Brothers, and Patrick Switzer to the Labyrinth of Distinction in Heritage Square.

Mayor Kathi Maskell says the path was designed to honour individuals who’s accomplishments improve or honour the Hanover community. Maskell says the Mercey Brothers and Patrick have earned national recognition for their achievements in music and sports.

Larry, Ray and Lloyd Mercey’s country music group rose to fame in Canada, starting with appearances at the CKNX Barn Dance. They recorded chart topping singles including Uncle Tom and Hello Mom. The group earned seven┬áJuno Awards and an induction into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame.

Patrick Switzer is considered a pioneer in the sport of downhill longboarding, as a three-time Canadian champion, and world title holder in 2011.  The induction ceremony will take place on Canada Day at 11:15am.
