The Hensall Kinsmen are hoping to have construction of a splash pad in the village completed by August 1.

Project Co-Chair Ryan Munn told Bluewater council last week they’ve accepted a tender for phase one of the slash pad for just under $130,000.

Phase 2 could see some additional features added and that would cost another $23,000.

Council approved a request for a $35,000 loan as bridge funding for the project. Munn explained the Hensall Kinsmen have already raised over $100,000 for the project and have several other events planned for the coming year, so their hope is they won’t need all of that bridge loan.
