Abandoned Cat Rescued in Meaford

A small grey cat is alive and safe today because of the kindness – and curiosity- of a Meaford couple and the efforts of volunteers with the Clarksburg Cat Shelter.

The Meaford couple were out for a walk last Thursday when they spotted a pet carrying case lying at the bottom of a hill.

The couple looked inside the carrier and found a small grey cat.

Somebody had locked the cat inside the pet carrier case and thrown the carrier case down a hill.

The couple took the cat to the Cat’s Meow, a second-hand store in urban Meaford run by The Clarksburg Cat Shelter in The Blue Mountains.

A volunteer took the cat to a veterinarian. The vet found the cat was in good health and spayed her.

Now, the cat – whose name is ‘Roxie’- is up for adoption.

If you are interested in adopting Roxie, or even just sponsoring her, phone the Clarksburg Cat Shelter at 519-599-7743.
