A Sunday drive didn’t turn out exactly as planned for a Stratford teen.
Police say the 17-year-old male hired a cab to take him from Guelph to Stratford.
Once in the Festival city, the teen fled the cab without paying but left behind a gym bag containing items that police were able to identify as stolen.
The Guelph cab was also equipped with a video camera for safety and the footage was used to later identify the accused – who is known to police.
The youth was later located at City Hall and arrested.
He is charged with not paying the $161 cab fare and possession of stolen property which included victims from Stratford and the Guelph area.
The male is currently on probation conditions and was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
