Meaford Water Supply Rating High

Water supply facilities in Meaford and Leith scored high ratings from the Ministry of the Environment.

Water purity tests carried out by the ministry early this year show Meaford’s water supply system rates 96 per cent pure, while the Hamlet of Leith received a score of 100 per cent.

Meaford Operations Director Steve Vokes says ministry officials gave Meaford’s water supply system a lower rating than Leith’s because of a water main break last July.

Because of the rupture in a 16 inch trunk, the inspection period could not prove chlorine levels in the system were acceptable.
