Building Boom In Huron-Kinloss And Minto

Huron-Kinloss Township is seeing a building boom.

The value of construction this year has reached more than $4-million. Last year, for the same time period, the value was $2.5-million.

Chief Building Inspector Matt Farrell says six new home permits have been issued. Permit values for new residential buildings in April totaled just more than $2-million.

Meanwhile, after a slow start to the construction season this year, new building permits in Minto have rebounded to the ten-year average.

To the end of April, $5.1-million in permits have been issued, compared to $5.7-million  last year. This year’s total includes 40 permits, compared to 41 last year.

Chief Building Official Terry Kuipers is pleased with the bounce-back and predicts the year will continue strong in Minto.
