Johnstone Is Huron Bruce NDP Candidate

The former Chair of the Bluewater District School Board will carry the NDP banner for Huron-Bruce into the provincial election. Jan Johnstone won the NDP nomination at last night’s meeting in Goderich.

She says on a province-wide level, people are tired of the waste and scandals of the current Liberal government and are ready for change. She says most people don’t mind paying taxes but they want to see their money used efficiently and that’s not happening now.

Johnstone also explained the NDP position on a local issue contrasts sharply with that of the current Liberal government. She says an NDP government would leave it up to local municipalities to determine if they wanted wind energy projects in their municipality. The municipalities would then determine location and setbacks of the turbines.
