Man Pulled From Lake In Grand River Conservation Area

A man is dead after emergency crews pulled his body from the waters of Belwood Lake east of Arthur.

The lake is in a Grand River Conservation Area. Park staff found a capsized aluminum boat near a dam this morning just before 9am and discovered the man in the water nearby.  He was pulled out by a Centre Wellington fire crew, then taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

He has been identified as Gordon Villeneuve, 77, of Kitchener.

The cause of death has not been determined and is still under investigation.
