West Grey will look at a bylaw for rural wind turbines.

Council will consider a recommendation from its Committee of the Whole to join a coalition working on the plan, and make a financial contribution.

North Perth Councillor Warren Howard made a presentation to the West Grey Committee of the whole this week.  He’s hoping to convince many of the over 100 municipalities affected by wind turbines to join the effort to craft a bylaw that will stand up to legal challenges. He says the bylaw will limit night time noise in rural areas, with some exceptions such as farming, or festivals.

So far six municipalities have signed up.
