Huron-Bruce MPP Pans Latest Liberal Budget

Ontario Finance Minister Charles Sousa latest budget doesn’t sit well with Huron-Bruce Conservative MPP Lisa Thompson.

Sousa hasĀ unveiled a $130.4-billion budget with a projected $12.5-billion deficit and higher spending. It needs the support of at least one opposition party to avoid plunging the province into an election.

Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson says she has serious concerns about the increased deficit as well as the increased debt and spending that she says is out of control.

Thompson also says the more she studies the Liberal’s future plansĀ for the Ontario Pension Plan, the more disappointed she is. She says it’s a jobs tax that will cost employers and employees.

NDP Leader Andrea Horwath skipped her first opportunity to read the $130.4-billion spending blueprint and is not expected to make any comment until tomorrow at 10am.
