Brockton Man Arrested On Weapons Charges
A Brockton man is in custody after being arrested earlier this week on various weapons charges.
As part of an investigation Monday evening, a Hanover police officer knocked on the door of a unit in a motel on 10th St.. An intoxicated man answered the door and told the officer the person he was looking for no longer lived in that unit. While talking with the man the officer allegedly noticed numerous firearms and other weapons on the bed inside the room.
As the officer tried to arrest the suspect, a struggle allegedly ensued and additional officers were called. One officer received minor injuries, but the suspect was subdued and arrested.
Police seized a loaded sawed off shotgun, two .32 calibre revolvers, one of them loaded, as well as numerous rounds of ammunition, prohibited knives, brass knuckles, lock picks and handcuffs.
Nineteen charges have been laid against 33-year-old Jack Walton of Brockton, including possession of a prohibited firearm, possession of a firearm, resisting arrest and breach of probation.
Hanover police continue the investigation and ask anyone with information to contact the Hanover Police Service at 519-364-4280.
