OPP Charge School Bus Driver

Huron County OPP have now charged a school bus driver from Listowel in connection with an incident that occurred in in Bluevale.

During the afternoon of April 14, Huron OPP received complaints of an school bus being driven in an erratic manner. Officers stopped the school bus on Clyde Rd. and after speaking with the male driver noted he had allegedly been drinking alcohol.

A roadside test was completed and the driver registered a warn range suspension and was served with an automatic three-day suspension.

Investigators have since reviewed additional information and have determined the motor vehicle was operated in a manner dangerous to the public, including the ten students that were on board at the time of the stop.

As a result, the 50-year-old from Listowel has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. He has a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice, Goderich on June 2, 2014.
