Open House Held For Planned Youth Treatment Facility

Residents still have concerns about a youth treatment centre being planned outside of Paisley, even after a open house.
The Georigan Bay Treatment Centre is planning to provide treatment for up to 50, 14-19 year olds at the Two Rivers Conference Centre.
A few of the concerns include, security, lack of communication, where the funding is coming from and the overall capacity of the organization.
Area resident Paul Crysler says he’d like to think a business such as this, would be an asset to the community, not a threat.
Crysler adds it’s not just about the community, it’s about the young people in the treatment centre.
The Centre’s Project Manager says they do wish to be very good neighbors and want to work with the community.
A facilitator has been requested at future public meetings.
