New Fire Training Centre In Meaford

The Meaford and District Fire Department is now taking applications from those who want to take one or more of the accredited courses at its Firefighter Training Centre.

Fire Chief Mike Molloy said the newly opened centre provides classroom and hands-on training courses in many firefighting-related subjects. These include firefighter survival, search and rescue, pump operations, advanced auto extrication, and confined space as well as medical responder.

Molloy says there are long-term plans to add live fire training and fire investigation.

The new training centre in Meaford is central to more than 40 fire departments in southern Ontario.
