No Referendum On Dundalk Sewage Recycling Plant
There will be no referendum included on the municipal election ballot in Southgate this year.
In recent years, Southgate council has heard no end of opposition to an industry in Dundalk which recycles human waste into agricultural fertilizer. But Southgate councilor Kim Peeters failed to persuade council to find out, via a referendum, if the silent majority favours waste processing-type industries in the Dundalk Eco Industrial Park.
There was no seconder for Peeters’ motion to proceed with a referendum.
