Kincardine Marine Celebration Planning
Kincardine will celebrate its marine heritage this summer.
A group organized to plan a weekend event released its agenda yesterday. Activities and events will take place from August 22-24.
Activities will include a sunset sail on two tall ships, which will be docked at the Kincardine harbour for the weekend. Tours of the Lighthouse are also on the agenda as are tours of the tall ships Saturday afternoon.
A new marine exhibit will be displayed at the historic Walker House just across from the lighthouse. It’s called Under Sail: Kincardine and the Tall Ships.
A children’s area at Macpherson Park adjacent the the harbour will allow kids to engage in marine-themed arts and crafts programs.
A sail-past featuring the tall ships and boats from the Kincardine Yacht Club will close the festival at noon Sunday, August 24.
