Owen Sound Police Look For Burglars

A home on the east side of Owen Sound was hit by a pair of quick-working thieves yesterday morning.

Shortly after 8:00 a.m., a couple left their house for a short morning outing. Within 15 minutes of leaving, a man and woman entered the house through an unlocked side door. They targeted jewelry in the main bedroom and silverware in the dining room.

A witness spotted the pair leaving. The man is described as being 40 to 50 years of age, medium to heavy build with slightly darker skin. He was about 5 foot 9, 220 lbs wearing a light couloured coat. The female was described as wearing a maroon coloured coat and being 5 foot 2, and about 150 lbs.

Owen Sound police would like to speak to anyone who may have seen the couple in the area between Harrison Park and the Mill Dam.

Police believe this pair may have been in the area previously and may have knocked on other doors claiming that they were looking for work, distributing pamphlets, or that they were at the ‘wrong house’. Anyone in the city who has experienced a similar situation in the last week is asked to call the Owen Sound Police Service.
