Owen Sound Marine Rail Museum Opening Soon
Owen Sound Council has voted to fund the rebirth of the city’s Marine Rail Museum.
A group known as the Community Waterfront Heritage Centre will operate the museum. They officially took control of the building last week.
Spokesperson Richard Thomas says it’s a victory for people in Owen Sound with a passion for the city’s marine heritage.
Council will release up to 31 thousand dollars to the group for the coming year, pending a through review of a planned budget and business plan. Thomas says that’s no problem and the documents are pretty much already prepared.
He expects the Museum will be open by Canada Day.
