Perth Huron Transportation Survey

The Perth-Huron United Way Transportation Task Force survey indicates residents of the two counties are interested in exploring options to improve public transportation.

Executive Director Ryan Erb points out that Huron and Perth don’t have the population density to support conventional public transportation and no one really wants that population density. But Erb says they are interested in looking at options like ridesharing or carpooling or carsharing to help them get to essential services like healthcare, shopping and employment.

Erb points out that ridesharing and carsharing would be less expensive options to individual car ownership and would be more environmentally friendly as well.

He adds the next step is gradually implementing some of the ideas from their survey.
