Business Complex Destroyed Near Chatsworth

Hwy 6 & 10 now open from Grey Rd. 18 south to Grey Rd. 16 following a fire that destroyed a business complex near Chatsworth.
Inter-township firefighters got the call around 8:00 last night to Steve Jobin and Sons Truck and Auto Centre. It’s the former Grew Manufacturing site on Sideroad 6, just west of Highway 6 and 10.
Fire chief Carl Linthorne says there were several industrial tank explosions, and a gas pipeline that burned through the night. He says fighting the fire was quite complicated.
The Inter-Township Fire Department got assistance from several other neighbouring departments; Owen Sound, Meaford, Chatsworth, Grey highlands, Tara, Arran, West Grey and South Bruce.
A section of Highway 6 and 10, north of Chatsworth was closed all night and through this morning to give fire vehicles easier access to the site.
No one was injured in the fire.
The Fire Marshal’s office will be assisting with the investigation into the cause of the blaze.
