Minto Staff Donating Pennies To Eliminate Its Carbon FootprintMarch 23, 2014 11:37am
Minto is going to do something to eliminate its carbon footprint.
The municipality has calculated that its carbon footprint could be eliminated by the planting of 960 trees.
Minto council and staff have agreed to donate one cent per kilometer of their mileage payments, plus the municipality will pay one cent per litre of fuel purchased.
The effort will generate $1,600 towards the purchase of the 960 trees.
The trees will be purchased from Wellington County’s Green Legacy tree nursery.
