Schenk Huron Bruce Provincial Liberal Candidate

March 20, 2014 5:30am
Wingham’s Colleen Schenk will run for the Liberals in Huron-Bruce in the next provincial election.
Schenk is currently a trustee with the Avon Maitland District School Board, a former chair of the board and a past president of the Ontario Public School Board Association.
She defeated North Huron Reeve Neil Vincent to win the nomination at the Lucknow Community Centre last night.
Schenk says she anxious to get to work and believes the Conservative’s White Paper would be a disaster in Huron-Bruce, taking education back to the Mike Harris days and doing away with early learning and would threaten union jobs. Schenk adds at this point it’s difficult to attack the NDP’s platform because she says they haven’t really said much.
