Morris-Turnberry Residential Taxes Up Slightly

Residential property taxes are going up a little in the Municipality of Morris Turnberry.

The municipal levy is going up nearly 13 per cent this year. However, once increased assessment, school and county taxes area added in, it works out to an increase of just 0.2 per cent for residents, and a decrease for commercial and industrial taxpayers.

Taxes on a property valued at about $100,000 would go up by under $4.

Ontario Municipal Partnership funding dropped by over 12 per cent, or more than $185,000.

However, the 2014 taxable assessment increased by nearly 11 per cent to help offset the loss.
