The federal government is providing more than $90,000 in grant money to organizations in Bruce County.

Huron-Bruce MP Ben Lobb says the New Horizons for Seniors program is providing the funding, which targets programs and organizations that benefit seniors.

The Walkerton branch of the Royal Canadian Legion, the Walkerton Golf and Curling Club and the Saugeen Shores Lawn Bowling Club are all receiving funding to help with renovations to their facilities, while the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre will be adding programming aimed exclusively at seniors.

Lobb says it’s a particularly beneficial grant program because it helps improve services and promote healthy lifestyles for seniors, which is important in Huron-Bruce because it has a higher-than-average seniors population.
