Hepworth Community Centre Future Considered

South Bruce Peninsula council is not quite ready to sell off the Hepworth Community Centre.

Council went against a staff recommendation to sell the century-old building, and will instead look at alternate uses for the facility.

Councillor Marilyn Bowman says she would like to see its visitor information services moved into the building, pointing out its location on Hwy. 6 at the main intersection in Hepworth puts it in the crossroads for travelers heading up to the Bruce Peninsula, as well as Sauble Beach.

Council will honour the bookings at the Hepworth Community Centre until the end of the month, when it will be closed until council determines its fate.
