North Huron Passes 2014 Budget
North Huron has passed its 2014 budget, at an increase of 2.1 percent.
Director of Finance Donna White say North Huron offers a wide range of high quality programs and services and they were able to maintain most of them.
She says the municipality is spending over 1.5 million on capital investments in 2014.
North Huron was able to transfer over 290-thousand dollars into reserve for unmarked projects, which White says will be a big help this year.
White adds a large accomplishment in 2014, will be paying off the Wescast Community Complex loan, 7 years ahead of schedule. The municipality started the loan in 2001 and they expect to fully pay it off in May.
