Huron Waves brings GAIA exhibit to the region

Huron Waves has started the 2023 season with an event featuring GAIA and held in the auditorium of the Trivitt Memorial Church in Exeter.

Artistic Director John Miller explains.

“We're bringing GAIA, which is a twenty foot wide, six metre diameter balloon that basically is the Earth, as seen by astronauts from their satellite," Miller said. “There's a beautiful sound track that goes with it. The ceiling is lit, the walls are lit a beautiful colour to represent the atmosphere. It's quite a spectacular thing to stand there to see GAIA revolving slowly.”

Miller says watching the oceans and the continents go by tends to make us realize how small we are as individuals. Miller says theme for the exhibit is Our Earth but My Responsibility.

More information about the GAIA Exhibit can be found on the Huron Waves web site.
